QuSIT presents latest technologies at National Quantum Technologies Showcase

On Friday 7th November, researchers and staff from the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Sensing, Imaging and Timing (QuSIT) exhibited at the UK National Quantum Technologies Showcase. Hosted by Innovate UK, the event took place in London and saw over 3,500 exhibitors and guests in attendance.

QuSIT presented an Endoscope, with the thickness of a single human hair, able to reach inaccessible to most conventional instruments. This demo was presented by MicroEndo, a new spin-out company launched by QuSIT researchers at the University of Glasgow with STL Tech.

QuSIT researchers from the Universities of Strathclyde, Nottingham and Birmingham were also present with their exhibits, featuring their latest quantum technologies. Spin-out companies set up QuSIT researchers also exhibited, included Delta.g, Covesion and Cerca.

The Showcase event included a Government announcement of £14 million of funding for new projects. This includes funding for spin-out companies set up by researchers, including Delta.g, MoniRail, Cerca and Aquark Technologies, as well as funding for the launch of QCNDS, the Quantum Centre for Nuclear Defence and Security, a Centre of Excellence to develop quantum projects to support national security, hosted by AWE, led by University of Strathclyde, and partnered with QuSIT at the University of Birmingham, and the QCi3 Hub at the University of Oxford.
