We offer the chance for companies to book in a Quantum Sandpit with QuSIT colleagues. Quantum Sandpits are a half to full day in-person events where our Business Team and select UK academics run through the latest developments in quantum technologies for your company. These are entirely free and can be booked across our UK University sites, or even at your specific industrial site. We typically recommend between 3 to 10 attendees, but more may be accommodated.
Sandpits are often offered in conjunction with co-funded PhDs, secondments, and research projects with your firm. This allows the sandpit to not only upskill your team in quantum technologies but also discuss direct actions and research that can be undertaken.
QuSIT offers the chance for your company to take part in research projects, giving the opportunity to input into the creation of new technologies and ensuring their eventual impact will prove beneficial for your field.
QuSIT will also run a series of upskilling events throughout our programme. These range from entrepreneurship classes to quantum community workshops. We highly encourage our industrial partners to take part, where we can cater to any technical level, and quantum background.
As part of QuSIT’s support for UK businesses, we provide a range of quantum qualifications and training, including PhDs, secondments and skills training.
QuSIT will run from December 2024 until December 2029. Industry partners can get involved and become partners at any time over the 5 years. Some industrial schemes may only be available for a limited time, so we encourage you to engage as soon as possible. New schemes will be advertised on our website and promoted in our newsletter.
PhDs are often organised, advertised, and recruited for, during the Autumn term for the following year (e.g. a PhD is organised in November 2025 for a September 2026 starting date). However, we provide PhD opportunities all year-round, allowing your firm to engage with QuSIT and organise a PhD at any time, remembering that slots are limited and undertaken via a first-come-first-serve basis.
Our Business Team will walk you through each step, and ensure you are supported at every stage. Broadly speaking, the process will begin with our team discussing your quantum technology needs and helping identify which technologies could be implemented in your field. After a project, PhD, or secondment is identified, our Business Team will support your firm through any adjacent agreements for contracts, IP, and financial support that may be required. During the scheme, regular check-up will be available. As QuSIT is part of the National Quantum Technology Programme, we hold no specific limitation to your IP or publications, and actively encourage that projects are showcased at conferences, and events.
