What is QuESP?
The Quantum Entrepreneurial Skills Programme (QuESP) is a practical, high-impact programme designed to turn quantum research into real-world ventures.
Delivered by Anchored In and Capital Enterprise, this blended training equips participants with the mindset, tools and networks to help navigate commercialisation and entrepreneurship.
QuESP is a fully funded training programme commissioned by the QCI3 and QuSIT Hubs and is sponsored by EPSRC.
Quantum Entrepreneurial Skills Programme (QuESP) Year 2
We are pleased to share that QuESP is continuing for a second year, building on the momentum of the first programme’s success.
We’re once again inviting researchers to join us for a practical, high-impact development programme designed to help turn quantum research into real-world ventures.
The programme is open to all students and researchers in the UK working on the development and exploitation of quantum technologies with a particular focus of those working within any of the five UK Quantum Research Hubs.
Participants do not need to have a business idea or be planning to start a company. The programme is suitable for anyone interested in understanding how research can create impact beyond academia.
Applications for cohort 1 taking place in Glasgow close on 30 October 2026.
Programme participants will be able to partake in the following sessions:
- 10 November 2026 – Engaging Externally
- 17 November 2026 – Fundamentals of IP (online)
- 24 November 2026 – Basics of Business
Expressions of interest for Cohort 2 taking place in Oxford during February 2027 are now open.

Quantum Entrepreneurial Showcase 2026
Join us for a unique opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the inaugural Quantum Entrepreneurship Skills Programme and explore the exciting future of quantum innovation.
This free event will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and innovation leaders from across the UK quantum ecosystem – providing attendees with a chance to hear pitches from emerging quantum ventures, learn from researchers who have moved into entrepreneurship, and explore opportunities for future engagement.
Taking place at both the University of Glasgow and the University of Oxford, the venues will be connected virtually, sharing sessions throughout the day.
